Dear Shining Hope Family,
We are here to give testimony to the goodness of our God!
The new year started with a significant amount remaining needed for January’s expenses. With back to school quickly approaching, as well as February’s operating budget to fundraise for, we identified with Paul when he wrote:
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)
BUT GOD!
• The Lord supplied January’s needs.
• February’s.
• And our ENTIRE back to school budget—including tuition, school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and transportation for 20 of our kids and 2 neighbor girls!
We are AMAZED at how wonderfully He works!
But God wasn’t finished. After all these beautiful answers to prayer, we received a $1,000 gift we could tuck away in our savings!
Kalungi has an exciting update to share!
“This month during school holidays, I started teaching our children English in addition to what they are taught in school. Two professional teachers have taken over now, and every day they’ve been volunteering two hours of their time to teach our children and any neighbor kids who are interested. I can already confirm that some change is happening in their English speaking. After we establish a plan of continued teaching through the school term, we will arrange payment for these kind teachers.
“The kids are happy about learning English, and they can’t wait for February 5th to come and school to start so they can achieve higher grades. Since they will be able to better understand their lessons, school will be easier for them and of greater benefit.”
